People have many reasons for wanting to learn to shoot and learn how to defend themselves, here are just a few:
SELF-DEFENSE
These are dangerous times, active shooters, home invasions, robberies, car-jackings, the list of crimes perpetrated against everyday citizens like you and me are endless. It’s not the gun, knife or club’s fault, it’s evil people who have no sense of decency or respect for human life. The police can’t be everywhere, so they can’t protect you, it’s not their fault, but they will show up sooner or later to process the scene. Someone will say, “I’ve never been involved in any of these events”, but some of you have. After all, the odds are against you winning the lottery, but someone eventually wins. I would rather have a gun and never need it – than need it and not have one. I once read “A gun is like a parachute; if you ever need it and don’t have it, you probably will never need it again”. Let that sink in for a minute!
Let me ask you a pretty simple question! Why do you purchase “Home, Auto and Life Insurance” or purchase extended warranty plans on major purchases? I’ve done all of these and have never had a claim. Think of all the money I could have saved. I purchase the protection just in case I might need help. It’s that peace of mind the insurance or protection plan brings. That’s why many of you carry or have a firearm, you might need to protect yourself or your family.
POLITICS
You own a firearm not to shoot the opposition, but to show support for the 2nd Amendment. It was put there by our founding fathers for a reason. There are political pressures on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights these days, especially the 1st and 2nd Amendments. Some get handguns and learn to use them safely and responsibly. They cling to their given right to bear arms. These documents just mentioned, give us a right to protect ourselves from the evil people we come in contact with. I just read another story of a car-jacking at a local gas station where a citizen defender had to use a firearm to protect himself and his loved ones. But there is yet another reason for us to learn to shoot and learn to defend ourselves.
SELF-CONFIDENCE
Perhaps the most satisfying to many people is the boost in self-confidence that comes from mastering firearm knowledge, skills and the feeling of personal self-control that comes with it. It takes maturity and responsibility to safely handle a firearm. That’s the reason generation after generation of fathers have taught their sons and daughters to hunt, to provide and protect themselves with a firearm. Men and women all over the US are being empowered, they are learning to handle a firearm with skill, safety and confidence, like never before.
MY FINAL THOUGHT
The gun-grabbers are trying to take our 2nd Amendment rights away from us. The great folks in Virginia have now said enough-is-enough, and are taking a stand. The movement is slowly spreading to other states. It’s time for “we the people” to make our voices heard throughout every town hall, state capital and into every corner of our federal government. “We the People” have had enough! Show them who is really the boss. To borrow a word from the Forrest Gump movie, lets vote their “buttocks” to the curb in the coming elections. Let’s make America Great Again!
Thanks
