73-YEAR-OLD OUTDRAWS, KILLS TEEN THUGS IN ST. LOUIS
I think I’ve mentioned this, the most dangerous people I know are seniors, tempered by decades of military and or law enforcement service, and honed to a razor’s edge by a lifetime of training. We don’t necessarily look fast, but we have eliminated all wasted motion and hesitation.
I get the strong impression that this home town grandpa, targeted by a pair of teens from Florissant and Ferguson had trained a few times in his life time. Police have identified the two men who were fatally shot as they this were allegedly attempting to rob this well armed senior, as Jonathan Warren 18, of Florissant and Lonnie Middlebrook 20 of Ferguson. The robbers were shot and killed in the 4100 block of Taft, which is a few blocks from the iconic Old Bevo Mill Restaurant an area I patrolled for many years back in my younger years as a police officer in St. Louis.
Police said Warren and Middlebrook entered the 73-year-old’s detached garage and attempted to rob him at gun point just before 4:00 P.M. One of the suspects held a gun to the homeowner’s head and demanded that he backup into the garage police said. The 73-year-old refused, then drew his own firearm and fearing for his safety, fired at the suspects. Police said the homeowner acted in self-defense, killing both suspects. The suspect’s guns were found at the scene and according to police, the one Warren use had been reported stolen on October 30, 2016 by the Florissant Police Department.
It takes a well-trained individual to look down the barrel of two guns and decide. “You know what? I’ve got you”, but that’s apparently what happened. This 73-year-old drew his firearm firing five shots and took down the two thugs. Accounts suggests that the two criminals took solid hits and didn’t even get out of the garage area. Our gray-haired warrior emerged from this encounter without a scratch all because of his training, and his quick, decisive actions.
“That’s why I train, to protect myself, my family and the innocent who can’t protect themselves.” ARE YOU WELL TRAINED?
